SanDisk und HP verkünden Partnerschaft bei Memory-Driven Computing

Langfristige Zusammenarbeit bei “The Machine”, dem aktuellen Produktportfolio sowie bei Innovationen im Bereich Storage Class Memory

RATINGEN, 12. Oktober 2015 – SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK), weltweit führender Anbieter von Flash-Speicherlösungen und HP (NYSE: HPQ) geben heute eine langfristige Partnerschaft bei einer neuen Technologie im Bereich Storage Class Memory (SCM) bekannt. Die Partnerschaft basiert auf der Memristor-Technologie von HP sowie der nichtflüchtigen Speichertechnologie ReRAM von SanDisk. Die Expertise beider Unternehmen ermöglicht die Entwicklung unternehmensweiter Lösungen für das Memory-Driven Computing. Beide Unternehmen werden auch bei der Weiterentwicklung von Lösungen für Rechenzentren mit Solid State Drives (SSDs) zusammenarbeiten.

Die Technologie wird bis zu tausendmal schneller als Flash-Speicher sein und bis zu tausendmal mehr Ausdauer bieten. Zudem gibt es signifikante Verbesserungen bezüglich Kosten, Leistung, Dichte und Ausdauer gegenüber der DRAM-Technologie. Die SCM-Technologie ermöglicht es Systemen, bis zu zehn Terabyte (TB) SCM pro Serverknoten zu verarbeiten. Dies kommt vor allem bei Anwendungen wie In-Memory-Datenbanken, Echtzeit-Datenanalysen, Transaktions- und High-Performance-Computing zum Einsatz.

Die neuen Innovationen im Bereich SCM bewältigen die massiven Datenströme, die durch das Aufkommen von Social Media, Security, Mobilität, Big Data Analytics, Cloud und das Internet der Dinge entstanden sind. Die Partnerschaft der beiden Unternehmen zielt darauf ab, bestehenden Flash-basierten SSD-Speicher um diese Technologie zu erweitern und High-Performance-Speicherlösungen für Unternehmensrechenzentren zu bieten. Darüber hinaus unterstützt die SCM-Technologie das neue Computing-Modell “The Machine” von HP, das die grundlegende Rechnerarchitektur neu erfindet, um einen Quantensprung in Leistung und Effizienz zu erzielen und gleichzeitig zur Kostensenkung und Verbesserung der Sicherheit beizutragen.
